We call for a religious and moral commitment to reproductive health, rights, and justice.

We affirm that life is sacred. It must never be created carelessly.

We call for sexuality education, family planning, prenatal care, abortion, and adoption services.

We affirm that parenthood is precious.

Women must have the right and the ability to make decisions about their reproductive and sexual health.

We affirm the moral agency of women.

Moral decisions are best made with the care and concern of community.

We affirm that abortion is a moral decision.

As a community, we are committed to ensuring that pregnancy, childbearing, and abortion are safe for all women and that all can freely decide.

As a community, we are committed to ending poverty, racism, sexism, and economic and political inequality.

We pledge our compassion and support to all who face these difficult decisions.

Today, we call on the Supreme Court of the United States to reject unduly burdensome restrictions on access to abortion and to support reproductive justice.

May the wisdom of the justices, the skill of the attorneys, and the integrity of the plaintiffs preserve access to safe and legal abortion services for all.

All: May true relational justice be served and human rights safeguarded for all.

Blessed are You, Eternal our God, Sovereign of the Universe. From the beginning of time, you give us the freedom to make difficult moral decisions, calling us to act justly and compassionately. Today, we pray for the justices of the Supreme Court, who will hear arguments in a case about access to abortion on March 2nd. Give them the spirit of wisdom and understanding, that they may discern how to best support women’s moral agency. Give the attorneys skill in their arguments, that they may inspire justice. Give the plaintiffs courage, strength, and perseverance. Bless us as we seek to create a more just world where all people have the right to make their own private reproductive decisions and obtain safe, legal, and accessible abortion services. Amen.

Spirit of Life, we know you by many names or by no name at all. We give thanks for the gift of moral discernment. Today, in the spirit of reproductive justice, as described in the 2015 UUA Statement of Conscience, we pray for the justices of the Supreme Court, who will hear arguments in a case about access to abortion on March 2nd. Amen.
