Sexuality Issues for Religious Professionals at Pacific School of Religion

Religious Institute President Rev. Debra Haffner will teach “Sexuality Issues for Religious Professionals” at Pacific School of Religion from July 14-18. The course is designed to offer students the knowledge and skills they need to address sexuality issues in their future ministries. It will begin with opportunities for students to reflect on their own sexuality attitudes, values, and beliefs, as well has how their sexual identity and personal sexual history may affect their ministry. The course will cover foundational knowledge about sexuality issues, the interrelationship of sexuality and religion, and opportunities for the development of skills to provide counseling, education, preaching, and public witness on sexuality issues. This course includes professional boundaries, handling sexual attractions during minister, and religious leader misconduct prevention, and counts as a professional misconduct prevention course required for UU ministerial candidates.

The course can be taken for 1.5 graduate credits or for 2.0 CEU’s. Please register by June 1.
