15th Anniversary of the Religious Declaration

The Religious Declaration on Sexual Morality, Justice, and Healing is 15 years old. First published as a full page ad surrounded by more than 800 names of leading religious leaders, today more than 4600 religious leaders from every state in the country have endorsed the Religious Declaration, and its call for prophetic religious leadership on sexual justice is as relevant as when it was first published.

Religious Institute’s President, Rev. Debra Haffner, wrote a piece for the Huffington Post on what’s changed in fifteen years and what still needs to be done. You can read her article here.

If you haven’t personally endorsed the Religious Declaration, this would be a great time to add your name and join our growing network.  You can do that at www.religiousinstitute.org/endorse.  And if you are not a religious leader, we hope you’ll forward that request to any clergy, religious educators, theologians, academicians in religion, or staff at faith based organizations, that you know.

You can also find us on social media posting with the #RDat15. Spread the word, share the celebration!

Thank you for your support of raising prophetic religious voices for sexual justice these past fifteen years.  Together, we are making a difference in our faith communities and society.
