LGBT Justice Updates

Barring intervention by the Supreme Court, same-sex marriages will begin on Thursday, August 21 in Virginia. Local clergy are getting ready. Edited at 3:30 pm on August 20. The Supreme Court did intervene to put on hold the federal appeals court’s ruling striking down Virginia’s ban on same-sex marriage.

The Fayetteville, Arkansas city council has passed an LGBT non-discrimination ordinance despite a misleading automated call from reality TV mom Michelle Duggar organized by the Family Research Council.

A federal judge has ruled that anit-gay U.S. pastor Scott Lively must stand trial for crimes against humanity for his role in the persecution, arrest, and murder of LGBT people in Uganda.
