A human rights framework created by women of color in 1994, reproductive justice is defined as the right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and create families in a healthy and safe environment. The Religious Institute works closely alongside religious leaders to highlight reproductive justice concerns within and outside of congregational spaces. Through liturgical resources, best practices for pastoral care, and direct action campaigns, we are dedicated to educating clergy and lay people on how to be intentional about the integration of the reproductive justice framework into every aspect of their faith.
