Rev. Haffner will present on 50 years of sexual justice and then will speak at a reception sponsored by the UU Women's Federation where she will receive the 2011 Ministry to Women Award. The Religious Institute will have a booth in the exhibit hall and we hope you will come visit.

Speaking Out Against LGBT Bullying

On October 4th 2010 in the Washington Post "On Faith" blog, Rev. Debra Haffner called for all religious leaders to speak out for LGBT youth in response to the recent gay youth suicides.

In July 2009, the Religious Institute, with support from the Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock and the leadership staff of the UUA, began a systematic review of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s sexuality-related policies, programs, advocacy, and commitments.  The survey and final report were authored by Rev. Debra Haffner,  Executive Director of the Religious Institute.
