HIV / AIDS

"God hears the cries of those who suffer from the failure of religious communities to address sexuality."

The Age of AIDS is the highly acclaimed, four-hour history of the HIV/AIDS epidemic that aired in fall 2006 on FRONTLINE, the Public Broadcasting System's flagship public affairs series.   We are grateful to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting through WGBH/FRONTLINE who provided funding for creation of guide book and complimentary DVDs.

The Age of AIDS: A Guide for Faith Based Communities

This guidebook will help congregations better understand and address the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The guide includes background information on HIV/AIDS and suggestions for using the DVD with intergenerational groups, high school, women's, and older adult small groups, and a social action committee. Also included are other suggestions for engaging the faith community in HIV/AIDS prevention, and extensive resource lists with references to denominational statements, faith based curricula, theological writings, and web resources.
